We run a variety of workshops, all of which can be suited to individual needs and are suitable for all ages and abilities.

The following are examples of our most popular workshops. However, if you have any other enquiries, such as small group workshops, youth club/assembly/after school club performances etc by any of our artists, please get in touch to discuss further.

1. Full Day Poetry Slam (workshop)

Full day immersive workshop for up to 90 people with two artists. The workshop is designed in the morning to engage and empower and high energy writing tasks leading to a short time in the afternoon to practice their group pieces written earlier.

The end hour is a hosted poetry slam where each team perform approx 1 – 2 minutes of performance poetry, judged and discussed by the pupils, with a professional performance and interactive freestyle showcase by poet / emcee.

Please note: This workshop can be formatted within the AQA Poetry Syllabus using set curriculum texts as the basis for writing and performing tasks. It can also be centred around any set topic / issue / subject for days such as Anti-Racism Day or International Woman’s Month.


2. Full Day Poetry in Performance (showcase)

Full day one hour long rolling format for unlimited audience number with 1 or 2 artists.

The showcase is designed to engage, enthuse and empower participants with poetry and performance and encourage them to re-read and re-engage with poetic texts. It includes a professional poetry performance, a brief introduction to spoken word and slam poetry, interactive poetry exercises and a final q and a.

This is extremely popular for school days where pupils may be taken from only one lesson in order to participate and for those wishing to engage whole year groups in our day session.

3. Emceeing, Rap and Lyric Writing

Full or half day workshop for up to 25 people with one artist. The workshop is designed to engage students with poetry through rap and lyric writing. The workshop emphasises writing and performance with a professional live performance and freestyle leading into the workshop. Participants are introduced to the intracacies of writing to music and beats, or rhyme, rhythm and use of stanza and bars. It can also include a session dedicated to editing, recording and mixing of music and lyrics.
